Valley Preparatory School

Summer Camps are listed in order of start date. All campers receive a t-shirt. All campers are asked to bring a morning snack and full day campers are asked to bring their own 'bag' lunch and an afternoon snack (all food must be peanut/tree-nut free!). All Camps at this location are Monday - Friday from 8AM -3PM.

Age Groups (Juniors: 4-7); (Apprentice: 8-14)

Camp Dates / Camp Concepts

Week 1: July 10 - 14

Juniors: Pirates Academy (Marine Engineering Concepts)

Students will learn about boats, levies and pulleys.

Apprentice: Minecraft EDU Traveling the Future (Aerospace Engineering)

Students will learn about resource management, and basic rocketry utilizing EFK developed missions in the minecraft edu game.

Week 2: July 17 - 21

Juniors: Camp Kelvin (Outdoor Engineering Concepts)

Students will learn how to make tents, waterproof clothing and other outdoor engineering concepts in this fun and exciting camp

Apprentice: Competitive Robotics Camp

Students will complete work in teams to solve missions from last seasons Animal Allies First Lego League competition. The week will end with students competing against one another in a fun robotics tournament.

Week 3: July 24 - 28

Juniors: Junior Robotics : Play Soccer

Students will be introduced to robotics concepts, programming, and learn about sensors and motors.

Apprentice: Video Game Design : Alien Invasion!

Students will use storyboard logic programming software to create their very own video game.

Pick Up Policy

Parents understand that to comply with the sign in/out procedures, the parent will come into the Program to drop off and pick up child. Engineering For Kids shall not release a child to any person without parent's consent. Engineering For Kids reserves the right to require identification of any person picking up your child. Engineering For Kids will contact persons listed as Emergency Contacts if the child has not been picked up within 10 minutes after camp/class has ended for the day. If a child has not been picked up 15 minutes after the session has ended, Engineering For Kids reserves the right to charge a $10 late pick-up fee.

Medical Emergencies

I agree to inform Engineering For Kids within 24 hours if my child or any member of the household develops a reportable communicable disease (immediate notification required if the disease is life threatening). The Engineering For Kids staff shall notify parent/guardians whenever their child becomes ill and the parent/guardian will arrange to have the child picked up as soon as possible. I further understand, that in the event of a medical emergency Engineering For Kids will call emergency services to render assistance, and that I will be financially responsible for any services charged. I understand that I am responsible for the medical expenses incurred by my child and that Engineering For Kids advises that I carry health insurance for my child.

Release of Liability

Payment of fees and participation in an Engineering for Kids program shall constitute acceptance of the following conditions:

Parent/guardian releases and discharges Engineering for Kids from any and all claims for personal injuries. Parent/guardian understands that Engineering for Kids is insured for its own liability and does not provide Medical or Accident insurance for camp/class participants. The Program reserves the right to immediately terminate a child through written notice. Engineering For Kids does not assume responsibility for the child until the child arrives and is signed into the Program.

Waiver of Liability:

In consideration of being permitted to participate in Engineering For Kids, on behalf of myself, my family, my heirs, and my assigns, I hereby release Engineering For Kids, its agents, and its employees from liability for injury, loss, or death to the above-mentioned participant while using any facility or equipment or in any way associated with participating in the activity of soccer now or in the future, resulting from the ordinary negligence of Engineering For Kids, its agents and employees.

Photo Release

I do hereby consent and agree that Engineering For Kids has the right to take photographs and video of my child during Engineering For Kids sessions. These photos and video may be used on the company website (www.engineeringforkids.com/ienorth), company Facebook page (www.facebook.com/engineeringforkidsienorth), and promotional material without compensation. I understand that my child’s name and identity will not be revealed. If you would prefer we not take photographs or video your child, please notify us via e-mail.

Cancellation Policy

Cancellations received at least 72 hours prior to the date of the first class will receive a full refund of the registration fee minus the processing fee. There will be no refunds issued within 72 hours of class start date. Engineering For Kids Inland Empire North reserves the right to issue no refunds for cancellations after the first class of the program. There are no refunds or make-ups for missed classes. If a class is cancelled due to weather or other events, the class will be rescheduled.
